About Carnfunnock Family Fun Zone
Carnfunnock Family Fun Zone is located within Carnfunnock Country Park, minutes outside the town of Larne.
Carnfunnock Miniature Railway was acquired in 2005 by the current proprietor, Mr Ian Lough. Since then, it has been his vision to further develop this attraction into a family fun centre comprising of various activities with the aim of attracting visitors from both within and outside of the Larne Borough.
CFFZ now comprises of 6 very exciting attractions, with a range of activities to appeal to all members of the family. The most recent addition is the Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, an internationally recognised sport with a specially designed area within CFFZ. Other activities include a Miniature Railway, 18 Hole Mini Golf course, Remote Control Boats, a Bouncy Castle and also a Bungee Run. CFFZ is situated within, Carnfunnock Country Park which is packed full of exciting and unusual attractions to see and do, with over 473 acres of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, ponds, walking trails, beaches and coastline, not forgetting its spectacular panoramic views of the Antrim Coast and North Channel.
The Park was originally part of the estate of Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon and reverted to Larne Borough Council in 1957. Many of the original features remain, including the Walled Garden the Icehouse and the Lime Kilns. Carnfunnock has combined man-made attractions and entertainment with the splendour of its natural scenery in a way, which is very special.
On the evening of 27th April 2007, Carnfunnock Family Fun Zone was announced as the winner of the 'Contribution to Tourism Award' at the 2nd Larne Borough Business Awards. CFFZ beat off competition from 3 other finalists to win this prestigious award, and highlights the extensive work being carried out at CFFZ to provide a highly enjoyable family entertainment venue.
